Bring one problem. Leave with a clear next step.

Free fifteen minute sessions for accounting and bookkeeping firm owners, on the part nobody runs a session about: actually running the practice once the marketing has worked.

The First 90 Days: Systematic Workflows From First Call to Fully Onboarded

Tuesday, November 3 | 10:20 to 11:05 am EST | Practice Growth & Management

The first 90 days of a client relationship is where the whole firm gets built or broken, and almost nobody is talking about the workflows underneath. Michelle takes the room behind the scenes of what actually happens between the first inquiry and a fully onboarded client, and names the one seam where most firms lose the plot.

  • Where firms actually lose new clients in the first 90 days, and why most owners never see it happen
  • Why the proposal is where a working firm starts, and how undefined scope quietly turns into scope creep and clients who leave six months later without telling you why
  • What a real end to end workflow looks like, including who on the team should own each stage and how to get it off your plate without losing quality

You'll leave able to name what's breaking in your own first 90 days, with one concrete change to make when you get back to your desk. Want the strategy context before your Clinic session? Book an afternoon slot with her.

Before you book
What do I get out of a Firm Edit Clinic session?

Bring one specific piece of how your practice runs. A lead workflow that leaks, an onboarding sequence that lives in your head, a service you're not sure you should keep offering, an inbox doing a job a system should be doing. We take a quick look at it with you and share ideas, tips and the shortcuts we use in our own firms. You leave with clarity on one concrete thing you can go and change to make the whole thing flow better. It's fifteen minutes and a fresh set of eyes on one problem, not a full review of your firm, and not a guaranteed fix. Spots are limited and it's one session per person, so don't bring the tidy problem that's easy to explain. Bring the one that's costing you the most right now.

What if you don't have the answer?

Then we'll say so. Some problems need a proper look rather than a quick one, and we'd rather tell you that than make something up on a trade show floor. If that happens we'll go away, work it out, and come back to you after the show. We promise.

Is it really free?

Yes, free. It's fifteen minutes of help, not a sales meeting. We do sell courses and builds through Build the Firm Co., and if you want them after, they're on this site and you can go look whenever you feel like it.

Do I have to be a Build the Firm Co. client?

No. Most people booking won't be.

Will you email me after the show?

Booking puts you on the Build the Firm Co. email list, where we send practical notes for firm owners and the occasional word about what we've built. You can unsubscribe from any of it in one click, and you won't hear from us about your session unless you asked us to follow something up.

Where does this happen?

On the trade show floor at Accountex Canada, The International Centre in Mississauga. We'll email you the exact booth location before the show, so watch for that. Come find us a couple of minutes before your time. Sessions are booked in advance, so there's no line to stand in.

Can I book more than one session?

One session per person across the two days, so book with whichever of us has a time that works for you. There are only so many slots and we'd rather they reached as many firm owners as possible.

What if I need to change my time?

Your confirmation email has a reschedule and a cancel link. If something comes up, please cancel rather than not show, because slots are limited and someone else will take it.

Is this the same as The Build?

No. The Build is a paid engagement where we map your own process and build it into workflows in your practice management software. A Clinic session is fifteen free minutes on one problem.

The clinic is fifteen minutes. This is the rest of it.

Build the Firm Co. is what we made for firm owners who want the systems without working it out alone. Self paced courses on leads, onboarding, SOPs, marketing, hiring and AI, and done for you builds when you'd rather have it built for you. Canadian, and built inside a firm we still run.
